Description
SDM MUL P is a blend of modified tall oil derivatives. It is used as a primary emulsifier in invert emulsion systems. It is designed to create a stable brine-in-oil emulsion and to aid in the oil-wetting of drill solids. SDM MUL P is designed to increase emulsion stability and to aid in fluid loss control and temperature stability. SDM MUL P is designed for use up to 400° F.

Applications
SDM MUL P is a primary emulsifier designed for use in the field with diesel or synthetic-base oils (i.e., paraffin, olefins, or ester blends). It is typically used with a secondary emulsifier, SDM MUL S, to formulate oil-based or synthetic-based drilling fluids. While the quantity used may vary depending on specific conditions, it is typically used at 3 – 6 lb/bbl.
