Description
SDM ASFALT O is a naturally occurring asphaltic material used for HPHT filtrate loss control in oil-based mud (OBM) in applications up to 350 °F. The product helps improve overall emulsion stability, thermal stability, and suspension properties in most invert emulsion fluids. SDM ASFALT O will also reduce torque and drag as well as the chances of becoming differentially stuck.

Applications
Recommended in oil-based muds where improved HPHT fluid loss is needed. Typical concentrations range from 1 lb/bbl to 6 lb/bbl. Daily maintenance treatment is usually required at 0.25 – 0.5 lb/bbl. High temperature applications may require higher concentrations.
