SDM CLEAN SL is a blend of powerful solvents and surfactants, used as a wellbore displacement cleanup chemical for removing pipe dope and oil- or synthetic-based mud residue.

Applications
SDM CLEAN SL is a fast-acting solvent package that quickly dissolves and disperses oil and synthetic based mud residues from drill pipe and casing walls during displacements. Due to the combination of powerful solvents, it is very effective at dissolving and removing sticky/greasy residues such as pipe dope.
SDM CLEAN SL can be used neat or at 8 – 20% dilution in in fresh water, seawater or brine. Required concentration depends of oil and solids concentration in the mud and required level of cleanliness. Pilot testing is recommended for optimum concentration determination.
For optimum cleaning efficiency during displacements, spacer should be pumped in turbulent flow and a contact time of minimum 5 minute should be allowed.
To ensure that the surfaces are wet-water, a strong waterwetting surfactant must be used, such as SDM CLEAN SL, should be used after the SDM CLEAN SL spacer.
