SDM GICA S200L is a versatile and widely used chelating agent solution for controlling divalent ions over a broad pH range in an aqueous system. It is stable under varying conditions of temperature, acidity, and alkalinity.

Applications
SDM GICA S200L is used in the oilfield industry for various applications. It is mainly used to remove or prevent the precipitation of iron and other metals from the treatment fluid by chelating them and stabilizing the system. During the acid treatment, various compounds may be dissolved in the treatment fluid. As the acid reacts and the pH increases, reaction products may precipitate as a gelatinous or solid insoluble mass. If this occurs within the formation matrix, it is almost impossible to remove and permanent permeability damage may occur.
SDM GICA S200L is used for chelating ferric and ferrous ions in acidizing fluids up to a pH of 9.0.
SDM GICA S200L chelating agent prevents precipitation by keeping ions in a soluble form until the treatment fluid can flow back from the formation during cleanup.
