Description
SDM CIDE T60 is a highly effective triazine-based biocide used in various oilfield applications. It is very effective against sulfate-reducing (SRB) and other types of bacteria. It is completely soluble in water and brine and safe for formation.
Physical Properties
- Appearance.................... Colorless to yellow liquid
- Solubility............................ Soluble in water, brine
- pH (5% solution) .................................. 10.0 – 12.0
- Flashpoint (°C) ........................................... > 100.0
- Specific gravity (25°C)…......................... 1.10 – 1.14
Applications
SDM CIDE T60 can be used in all types of water-based mud and low-salinity brine systems. It is used to treat makeup water in water-based systems to prevent bacterial attacks on polymers, which can affect the system's properties. It is also used in completion brines and packer fluids to reduce corrosion-related bacterial activity.
SDM CIDE T60 is compatible with sulfite-based oxygen scavengers, as it is not destroyed in its presence, which is the case with glutaraldehyde-based biocides. It also has an excellent HSE profile that makes it an excellent alternative to Glutaraldehyde. Is very effective at low dosages. Recommended treatment is usually 0.05 – 0.1% v/v. Highly contaminated water may require a higher dosage.
SDM CIDE T60 has a long-term effect; however, periodic treatment may be needed. Bacterial activity can be monitored using bacterial culture tests methods in the laboratory.
Presentation / Packaging
SDM CIDE T60 is packaged in 5-gal cans or 55-gal HDPE drums.
